Review of the shop
Not a wine book, but a great book
"Dandelion Wine" by Ray Bradbury is not a book about wine, but rather a series of linked fictional short stories that revolve around the theme of growing up, growing old, and dealing with changes against the back drop of a small midwestern town in the late 1920s. Dandelion wine is one of the many metaphors used by Bradbury to capture the idea of holding on to the moment as best we can. Wine is certainly a snapshot of a summer caught in a bottle, yet like everything else, changes with time and age. Bradbury's style is almost poetic prose in these short stories. So, read this just for the pure enjoyment ... but don't expect to learn about wine, but about ourselves. One of my all-time, absolutely favorite books ever. -- PT
